Obituary of Shane Tackett

Shane Tackett, 53-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life on Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was born on May 11, 1971, in Juneau, Alaska to Jane (Wood) Tackett and the late Bernie Tackett.

Shane worked at Briggs and Stratton for 34 years. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his wife and children. He enjoyed hunting, camping, floating on the Current River, and spending time with his family and friends. He also had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making his loved ones laugh.

He was married to Jeannie (Sullivan) Tackett on June 25, 1994. She survives. He is also survived by his mother. He was a father to four sons, Tyler (Selena) Cochran of Ramona, CA, and Aaron, Seth, and Eli Tackett of Doniphan, MO. Shane was the brother of Linda (Keith) Barbeau of Buena Vista, CO, Bernie Tackett of Tijeras, NM, and Cabe Tackett of Doniphan, MO. Shane was also the brother-in-law to Eddie (Rhonda) Sullivan of Harviell, MO and Denise (Robin) Foster of Doniphan, MO. He was the uncle to nephews, Lindsey Barbeau of Colorado Springs, CO, Tanner (Morgan) Barbeau of Buena Vista, CO, Matthew (Brittany) Sullivan of Doniphan, Jordan (Ashley) Sullivan of Naylor, MO, Michael Sullivan of Jonesboro, AR; Logan (Kara) Caperton of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Jake Caperton and Colten Foster, both of Doniphan; and a niece, Halie (Andrew) Price of Myrtle Beach, SC. Shane also had many great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his in-laws, Dennis and Norma Sullivan.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
