Recalling cousin Jim's energetic spirit and unique charm brings a smile even in such times. Didn't he had the knack of transforming grandpa Richmond's porch into a mini concert with his guitar? The 'Battle of New Orleans in 1814' was never just a Johnny Horton song, it was our anthem led by Jim. Every reprise stirs memories and echoes with his laughter. In thoughts and in song, we'll sing along, eternally embracing Mary and family during these tough moments.

We lived so far away from family in Naylor Mo. The highlight of our year was our yearly visit to grandpa and grandma Richmond’s. Jim would always show up and put some life into our visit. He was the oldest and most adventurous of our cousins. Life was never boring with cousin Jim around. There was always such a strong sense of family connection with Jim. It’s hard to believe that we won’t be able to just sit and reminisce about our shenanigans again. My love will never end for you Jim. Until we meet again.❤️

My first memory of Jim: He was a teenager, playing the guitar and singing " Johnny B. Good" . I was just a kid. This was his best song. Then my little brother, Howard, who was just 5 or 6 , would help him sing "Down in the Boondocks". What an entertainer he was. He knew how to tell a good story and keep us hanging on every word. Rest in peace Jim. Praying for his family.
