Obituary of Fred Thomas Colley II

Fred Thomas Colley, II, 78-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Poplar Bluff, MO.  He was born October 25, 1945, in Orange County, CA to Fred Thomas Colley, Sr. and Reva (Bridges) Colley. 

Fred’s number one passion in life was his family and spending time with them.  In his early years he enjoyed drag racing on the weekends.  Later he accomplished his dream of owning a restaurant when he and his family opened Colley’s Café, which was a staple in Doniphan for many years.  He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and reading.  He had attended the Church of Christ.

On January 5, 1987, in Doniphan he was married to Doris Colley, who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Rhonda Jungbluth (Jeff) of Poplar Bluff, MO; Fred Thomas Colley, III “Tom” (Jennifer) of Franklin, TN; Melissa (Jeremiah) Lovins of Doniphan; Matt (Ashley) Colley of Cedar Grove, NC; grandchildren, Stefeny (Jason) of Kansas City, MO; Michael of Nashville, TN; Ella, Kaelyn, Jack and Max of Franklin, TN; Emily (Zachary) and Paris of Doniphan; Allison of Baltimore, MD; Jasper of Charlotte, NC; Nathan, Emma, and Rowan of Cedar Grove, NC; Charlotte of Las Vegas, NV; and great-grandchildren Athena and Ares.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Colley will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harold Sheppard officiating.  Visitation will begin at noon on Monday, and burial will be in the Ponder Cemetery.
