Tonya Karlene Barton, 58-year-old resident of Ripley County, MO, departed this life Friday, February 2, 2024, in Reynolds County, MO.  Tonya was born February 2, 1965, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to the late James and Bertha Thomas Samons.  She was a housewife and had worked in home health.  Tonya enjoyed yard sales, fishing, and the most important thing in her life was being a Grandma. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl Barton, Jr; sister, Tamra Samons; and brother, Brandon Samons.

On December 19, 1986, in Doniphan, MO, Tonya was married to Carl Barton, Sr. in Doniphan, MO.  He survives.  Also surviving is her daughter, Jessica Wilson of Doniphan; brothers, Kevin, Pat, and Arlan Samons all of Doniphan, MO; and grandchildren, Miles and Jaycee.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 2 PM.  Visiting will begin at noon in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Barton Cemetery.
