Margaret Joyce Beal, 86-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO.  She was born May 11, 1937, at Beaver Dam, MO, to the late Roy and Evelyn (Freeman) Richmond.

An active member of the Doniphan community and her church, Joyce belonged to the BPW (Business and Professional Women’s Club), the United Methodist Women, and was on a bowling team. She was an avid quilter making innumerable quilts for herself and others to enjoy. Her love of working puzzles was reflected in piecing together her beautiful quilts. Joyce also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She was an active member of her church, Doniphan United Methodist Church.

On January 19, 1974, Joyce married Jim Beal in Doniphan. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Kathy Gibson of Billings, MT, Steven (Tina) Gibson of Reisterstown, MD, and Wayne (Yvonne) Gibson of Doniphan; a brother, Bill Richmond of Grandin; grandchildren, Joshua (Casey), Joseph (Alyssa), Jacob, Davonna, and RJ; and one great-grandson, Rhodes.

Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Richmond.

Visitation will be held at the Doniphan United Methodist Church, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Brother Kent Wilfong will be officiating, and Burial will be in Stevens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in her name to the Doniphan United Methodist Church or Stevens Cemetery.
