Obituary of Richard Lowell Hartsock

Richard Lowell Hartsock, 88-year-old resident of Gatewood, MO, departed this life Saturday, December 23, 2023. He was born December 7, 1935, in Iowa City, IA, to the late Lowell Lyle and Helen (Chipman) Hartsock.

 

A man of many talents, Richard retired from truck driving. He had also been employed as a mechanic for John Deere and Ford Tractor as well as farming. Richard enjoyed outdoor activities which included gardening, fishing, hunting, and taking care of his pets. He attended Tucker Methodist Church.

 

Richard was married to Kay Netherland, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Rebecca Hartsock and Ronnie L. Hartsock; a daughter-in-law, Elaine (Sisk) Hartsock; stepdaughter, Pamela (Fagan) Smith, Edward Smith; and a brother, Jerry Hartsock, Lisa (Gaarde) Hartsock.

 

Richard was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hartsock, and a sister, Janie Hartsock Slach.

 

The family will have a private memorial at a later date. If you wish to make a donation to the Disabled American Veterans Organization, anything would be appreciated. Richard had two sons and a brother that are veterans.
