Lawrence Douglas Patterson, 90, of Gatewood, Missouri, died Monday, February 13, 2012, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan, Missouri.
Mr. Patterson, son of Fred and Birdie (Coats) Patterson, was born December 3, 1921, in Ponder, Missouri. He was a farmer. Mr. Patterson enjoyed gardening, family get-togethers, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a deacon of the West Doniphan Missionary Baptist Church.
On October 14, 1941, he was married to Olive Mae Coonce in Corning, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on October 13, 1985.
Surviving are one daughter, Kathy (and Jerry) Reeves of Gatewood; two grandchildren, Dustin (and Tasha) Reeves and Katie (and Jimmy) Cobb; and three great-grandchildren, Macy Reeves, Dalton Cobb and Lane Cobb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one sister, Virdie Counts, and one brother, Jake Patterson.
Visitation for Mr. Patterson will begin at noon on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jared Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Tucker Cemetery.
