Veneda Roberts, 90-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born July 25, 1933, in Doniphan, MO, to the late Lancie and Neva (Vaughn) Montgomery.

A lifelong resident of Doniphan, Veneda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She found joy in looking after her family and home and was talented in her handiwork, which included crocheting and embroidering. Veneda was of the Baptist faith.

On June 7, 1959, Veneda married Chester Roberts, Sr. in Doniphan. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, Veneda was also preceded by her brother, Barney Montgomery, and a granddaughter, Karen Roberts.

Surviving are her children, Neva Decker and Carter Roberts, Jr., both of Doniphan, and Wayne Roberts of Huntsville, AL, and grandchildren, Misty and Michael Crain, Kristin and Quentin Henselman, and Michael and Hope Roberts.

Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Friday evening, September 15, 2023, from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Brother Randy Whiteside will be officiating.
