Obituary of Jo Ann Sisco

Jo Ann Sisco, 87, of Gladstone, MO, departed this life Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She was born March 10, 1936, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Louis Stanley and Ila Maureen (Trubey) Hopkins.

Jo Ann enjoyed traveling, delighting in the sights and experiences each new adventure offered. She loved animals and raised caged birds which sometimes included hand feeding the baby birds. Dachshunds and chihuahuas also held a special place in her heart. Jo Ann spent many hours researching genealogy and was very knowledgeable in family lineage. She also would relax by spending time crocheting and making a variety of items including afghans which are cherished gifts she gave to family and friends. PBR Rodeo was also included in Jo Ann’s favorites. She was of the Methodist faith.

On May 13, 1975, Jo Ann married Clyde Ervin Sisco in Miami, OK. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Deanna White of Las Vegas, NV and James Joseph (Cindy) Fredricks of Gladstone, MO; grandchildren, Sara Anne, Jeni, and James (Latishia); and great-grandchildren, JoJo, Mick, Lennon, Grace, and Carter.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Totty; a sister, Nadine Stephen; brothers, Bob Hummell and Jim Hopkins; and a grandson, Stephen Totty.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at noon. Pastor Jim Davis will be officiating, and burial will be in the Handy Cemetery.
