Obituary of Judy Paulette Hood

Judy Paulette Hood, 74-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Tuesday, August 8, 2023. She was born December 7, 1948, in Covington, TN, to the late Floyd and Virginia (Grantham) Hartsfield. On March 23, 1989, Judy married William T. Hood also in Covington, TN.

 

Judy was a true Wonder Woman possessing strength and determination and aways putting others first. She exemplified the definition of love being a devoted and loving mother, wife, and grandmother. Her positive outlook and sense of humor kept things lively with her jokes and pranks. Judy loved to play games, especially on her cell phone. She had quite a list of favorites including Pac Man and Pac Woman, Donkey Kong, and Bad Fur Day. She also enjoyed playing cards and excelled at Rummy and Uno. Judy was crafty and could make anything with whatever items were available. Judy also enjoyed the serenity of a day spent fishing and was an excellent gardener reaping the rewards of beautiful flowers.

 

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Phillip and Michael Hartsfield; and son-in-law, Robby Jones.

 

Surviving is her husband, William; a brother, Dennis Hartsfield; her children, Jennifer Brassfield, Jessica Rickard, Becky Rickard, Rachel Jones, and Daniel Rickard; along with 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
