Obituary of Josh Hassig
Joshua Irwin Hassig, 35-year-old resident of Poplar Bluff, MO, departed this life Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was born August 19, 1987, in Steamboat Springs, CO, to Bobby (Cindy) Vinton Hassig of Yampa, CO and Fawn (Cliff) Barbee of Doniphan, MO.
Josh had worked construction. Serving the Lord was his #1 priority. He attended Crossroads Church in Poplar Bluff. Following closely behind was his focus and devotion to his daughter, Makynlee. Josh also enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family, especially for holiday dinners.
Surviving are his parents along with his daughter. Also surviving are his sisters, Jenna (Chris) Cox of Corning, AR, Jessica (Zack) Swindle of Eminence, MO, and Morgan Barbee of St. Louis, MO; a brother, Dustin Barbee of Texas; maternal grandparents, Leon and Elsie Harvey; nieces and nephews, Sidney, Jakob, Brookelyn, Bryce, Kaylynn, Parker, Lathan, Corbin, JoLee, Evie, and Hunter; great-nephews, Myles and Maddox; and great-niece, Blakely.
Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Irwin and Charlene Hassig, and Dorothy Barbee.
Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 4, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Curtis Crowley will be officiating, and burial will be in the Grandin Cemetery.
