Deborah Jean “Grannie” Geringer, 70-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Friday, June 30, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was born March 14, 1953, in Oceanside, CA, to the late Gilbert L. and Barbara Jean (Wilkins) Geringer.

Deborah was a Grannie in every way, raising five children, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an advocate for all children, her own and others adopted by love that she took care of as though they were her children. She always had an open-door policy for any child.  

Surviving is her son, David (Michelle) Dornin; daughters, Michelle (Mark) Tipton, Stephanie (Phillip) Johannsen, Amber (Wesley) Kennon, and Tricia (Kevin) Williams, all of Doniphan; a sister, Patty (Mark) McNelly of Milstadt, IL; a brother, Gil (Rose) Geringer, also of Milstadt, IL; and a special friend, David Payne.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Megan, Melissa, Maci, Cody, Colt, Cage, Josh, Cassidy, Emily, Mallory, Marley, Josey, Briley, Weston, Madilyn, and Cailyn, along with 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Gracie and Laney Tipton.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 6, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Logan Creek Cemetery.
