Marion and I go way back to our Navy time In Rota Spain. He was my best friend and running partner and we had many adventures. He has stayed in contact with me since the early 80s and I will forever have fond memories of our times together. Louie Rice

Marion was one of my “Buddies” in high school. We enjoyed squirrel hunting together and fly fishing Charles’ pond for bass and bluegills. We worked feeder pigs for Jimmie Hoefer. We also dated the Broz twins and wondered if they switched on us when they went to buy candy!
I will always remember Marion’s twinkling eyes and friendly smile. He was a great friend and I will always miss him, but never forget him.

There are no words to express the appreciation for my friend or the loss that I feel. He wasn't just a good neighbor, he was a part of our family. For the most part, we were all in these few square miles together all our lives. Towles Community was special & people like Marion & my parents, Jim & Beverly Hoefer were a huge reason why. Of course, there were others too. The Colburns, the McAnallys, the Sipes, the Legrands, the Loftis families & more. Over the years, they swapped equipment, livestock, sweat equity & hunting stories.
They shared meals, troubled times & great laughs. Marion pulled my family through the hardest years after my dad passed away. He helped us keep my parents farm going when I didn't think it could be done. There are too many stories for this page but every one of them is recorded in my heart.
