Obituary of Dennis Edgar Richmond

Dennis Edgar Richmond, of Poplar Bluff, MO, departed this life Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born June 6, 1953, in Butler County, MO, and had just marked his 70th birthday. Dennis was the son of the late Edgar and Marie (Parsons) Richmond.

Dennis was a heavy equipment operator and also a carpenter. He was an active outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. Dennis loved all animals. He also treasured being with family. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Dennis was a member of the local VFW Post 3485.

On October 26, 1979, Dennis married Sandra Dale in West Doniphan, MO. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Danny Richmond and Angela Pierce, both of Ellsinore, MO, Jeff Payne of Doniphan, and Sandra Richmond of Doniphan; a sister, Bernice "Cookie" Bradley; brothers, Stanley and Roger Richmond, both of Poplar Bluff; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Richmond; a daughter, Claudia Payne; brother, Lloyd Richmond; and granddaughters, Brittany Pierce and Natalie Grace.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 12, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Kyle Foulks will be officiating, and burial will be in Stevens Cemetery.
