Obituary of Joe Evans, Sr.
Joey "Joe" Dwayne Evans, Sr., 60, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was born on November 5, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Johnny Sr. and JoA (Foeste) Evans.
Joe dedicated his career as a heavy equipment operator at Royal Oak Charcoal Plant in Ellsinore, MO, finding fulfillment working and running big trucks. Outside of work, he had a deep passion for hunting, catfishing, shooting skeet, muscle cars, playing horseshoes, and camping. Whether it was cruising on a serene lake or adventuring on the Current River, being on the water brought him great joy. However, Joe's greatest source of happiness came from spending quality time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, whom he enjoyed spoiling.
On September 5, 2006, Joe married Heather Poole in Doniphan, Missouri, and she survives him, carrying the memories of their beautiful journey together.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his children: Joe Evans, Jr. (Tashena) of Ellsinore, Diana Evans of Doniphan, Toby Evans of Illinois, Shelby Oliver of Poplar Bluff, and Tiffany Oliver of Doniphan. He also leaves behind his sisters, Janice Aarns of Breese, Illinois, and Julie Emery of Doniphan, as well as his brother, Jerry (Roz) Evans of New Jersey. Joe's memory will forever be cherished by his adoring grandchildren: Payton, Ayden, Grayson, Ashton, Everett, Tyler, Mason, Ariana, Rylie Jean, and numerous nieces and nephews. His mother, JoA Evans of Doniphan, also survives him.
During this time of grief, let us remember Joey "Joe" Dwayne Evans, Sr. for the love and joy he brought into the lives of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those he touched.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery
