Obituary of Gary Roberts

Gary Roberts, 76-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Tuesday, April 25, 2023. He was born September 8, 1946, in Alton, MO, to the late Phillip W. and Iva (Johnson) Roberts.

 

Gary’s friendly and outgoing nature made him a person most people in town knew, and they enjoyed his smiles and waves as they passed by. Gary attended many churches in the area but was most often seen at West Point United Pentecostal Church. He liked to listen to music with his favorite being religious or bluegrass. In earlier days, Gary would be seen playing checkers on the courthouse square.

 

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by brothers, Kenny and James Roberts.

 

Surviving is his brother, Larry Roberts of Doniphan.

 

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Many Springs Cemetery near Alton, MO.
