Obituary of Glenda Cope Jones
Glenda Cope Jones was born on October 30, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, to William G. Cope and Elsie Moore Cope. On April 15, 1973, Glenda married Charles D. Jones of Doniphan. He passed away on January 1, 2023, and she missed him terribly. On April 10, 2023, while surrounded by her family at her home, she went to be with Charlie and their son, Charles David Jones, Jr. in heaven.
Glenda graduated from Poplar Bluff High School. She worked in dentistry for over 30 years. She had worked for the orthodontist, Dr. Harrington in Poplar Bluff and later for Dr. King and Dr. Jackson in Doniphan.
Glenda was a devout Christian and a member of His Place Church. She was able to do a lot of hospitality work for the church. For numerous years she was in charge of organizing funeral dinners. She also helped in the kitchen whenever she could. Glenda loved to crochet. She always wanted for her yard to look nice and had beautiful flowers. She also loved to fish and enjoyed riding her jet ski on Current River.
Glenda and Charlie had a blended family with five children between them. They are Jane (Brad) Stoops, Nancy Jones, Margaret Reagan, Paul (Sheila) Henderson, and Michael (Dee) Jones. They had 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Glenda also had two brothers, her twin, Don (Nan) Cope, and Jack (Delores) Cope.
In addition to her loving husband, Charles, Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elsie Cope, and a son, Charles David Jones, Jr.
A graveside service will be held in the Doniphan City Cemetery, on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Brothers Dan Craig and Luke Hammond will be officiating.
