Obituary of Astrid Morris
Astrid Morris, 70-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Saturday, March 18, 2023. She was born August 24, 1952, in Berlin, Germany, to the late Harold and Ilse (Pallutz) Marx.
On March 12, 1969, Astrid married Alan Lee Morris in Berlin. Alan had met and courted Astrid during his service in the United States Air Force. They later made their home in the United States. Astrid’s world revolved around her family, especially focusing on her husband, Alan. That world was shaken when he passed away on June 8, 2017. Her grandchildren also held a special place in her heart. Astrid like to cook and bake and had used that love and interest as she worked as a cook at Current River Nursing Center. She was known for baking delicious delicacies especially cheesecakes. Astrid also enjoyed playing games ranging from Scrabble to online games such as Candy Crush and Solitaire. A fun day also included time swimming and sunning at the pool.
In addition to her parents and husband, Astrid was preceded in death by a grandchild, Brandon. She is survived by her children, Peggy (Gerald) Arnold of Doniphan and Alan (Ami) Morris, Jr. of Sussex, NJ; a sister, Anita Frei of German; and brothers, Harold Marx and Michael (Micki) Marx, also of Germany. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Gerald II, Colton, and Michael; and a great-grandchild, Elise.
The family will hold a private family memorial at a later date.
