Obituary of Robert Earl Powers

Robert Earl Powers, 77, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born December 8, 1945, in Pollard, AR, to the late Daniel Franklin and Genevieve Lois (Thomas) Powers.

Robert was a St. Louis Cardinals fan who enjoyed keeping up with their games and was always rooting for a win. Over the years he had gained a large and varied collection of cast iron trucks. Robert was saved and baptized at West Point United Pentecostal Church where he commented that he enjoyed the music. In later years, he attended Doniphan First Church of God alongside his sister, Carolyn.

Surviving are his sisters, Carolyn Wilkerson of Doniphan, Jewell Vaughn of Benton Harbor, MI, Betty Barrow of Cincinnati, OH, and Patsy Rau of Benton Harbor, MI; and his brother, J. D. Powers of Sodus, MI; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Rattan, and brothers, Junior Powers, Edward Powers, and Russell Powers.

A memorial service will be held at the Doniphan First Church of God on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Elijah will be officiating.
