Obituary of Tonja Elaine Boxx

Tonja Elaine Boxx, 48, departed this life Thursday, February 9, 2023. She was born July 16, 1974, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to Elaine (Spears) Nowak of Doniphan and the late Greg Nowak.

Tonja’s sweet nature and kind, welcoming smile endeared her to anyone she met. She was an exemplary person with a dynamic personality. She loved the outdoors and spent time hiking and biking. When indoors, she liked to sew. Tonja was a medical home manager with Sage Creek in Malden. She considered her coworkers her extended family.

Surviving is her mother; daughter, Shawn Prater of Elkridge, MD; stepchildren, Cari Prater and Cole Prater; and a multitude of dear friends.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6:30 p.m.
