Obituary of Ronald Leo Suter

Ronald Leo Suter, 91-year-old resident of Poplar Bluff, MO, departed this life December 4, 2022. He was born May 28, 1931, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Frank Leonard and Johanna Marie Emma (Albert) Suter.

 

Ronald had worked in home construction. He was an avid body builder and very into physical fitness in his younger days and continued this focus staying active and still working out at least a couple days a week even at the age of 91. An outdoorsman and sportsman, Ronald loved the mountains and had lived in the northwest for many years. He loved his dogs, P. D. who passed away, and Sara, who the Veterans Administration arranged for him to have. Ronald sang the praises of those who worked with him at the VA and the services they provided. He was a Korean War veteran and received many honors and medals for his service.

 

Ronald was married to Darlene Ann (Novak) Suter in Doniphan. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his twin brother, Robert F. Suter and his sister, Laverne Suter Walsh.

 

Surviving is his daughter, Dana Lynn (Keith) Bodenschatz of O’Fallon, MO; granddaughter, Casey Nicole Bodenschatz, also of O’Fallon; two great-granddaughters, Brielle Rose and Lilah Ann; as well as nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 123 N. 8th Street, Poplar Bluff, MO at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
