Obituary of Laura Caroline Oldham

Laura Caroline (Lehmer) Oldham was born on June 7, 1952, in Holt County, Missouri where she was raised as a farm girl with her four brothers, Chip, David, Mark and John. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Joan Lehmer. She made her home in Doniphan, Missouri with her husband and children.

Laura married Tom Oldham in 1975 and had four children: Paul Oldham of Doniphan, Angela (Devin) Kirby of Doniphan, Daniel Oldham of Doniphan, and Jenny (Andrew) Oney of Troy, IL.

She had eight grandchildren who loved her deeply: Malyssa Oldham, Makayla and Jacob Oldham, Gracen and Makenna Kirby, and Adelyn, Ellam and Avery Oney.

Laura, who was known as Mrs. Laura by many, was a pillar to her family and those that knew her. Her contagious smile and huge heart won the hearts of her friends and family. Laura found true delight in working for Ripley County Transit and loved her co-workers and clients. She enjoyed her time as a Girl Scout leader, coaching girls' softball, and helped run the ballpark program for many years. Laura never met a stranger and treated everyone with kindness.

Laura has always put her husband and family first and would feel pride to brag on any of them. She and Tom loved to go on cruises, travel to Cruising on the Coast, watching oldies' bands, and being part of anything their grandkids liked. Tom and Laura had a romance and friendship that most would dream of having.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 5-8 PM, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 with Rev. John Harwell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Towles Cemetery.
