Jean Wilson Poe, 89, of Doniphan, Missouri died Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Mr. Poe, son of Floyd Willis and Alma Francis (Jackson) Poe, was born February 16, 1922, in Puxico, Missouri. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service. Mr. Poe was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Navy. He was married to Tina Spriggs on May 28, 1942, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2005. Surviving are three daughters; Linda Dodd and Donna Hudson, both of Doniphan, Missouri, and Barbara McClellan of Bloomfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Steven Hudson, Tommy Dodd, Timmy Dodd, Tina McSoley, Tracy Gonos Hays and Jeffrey Gonos; thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-grandsons; two sisters, Joyce Poe of Campbell, Missouri, and Marcie Bussa of The Villages, Florida; and one brother, James R. "Jim" Poe of High Ridge, Missouri. Mr. Poe was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Alma Poe, his wife, Tina Poe, one son, Stephen Poe, two sisters, JoAnn Hanna and Connie Sue Chronister, two brothers, Floyd W. "Junior" Poe, Jr., and Paul Robert "Bob" Poe; and one grand-daughter, Tammy Dodd. Visitation for Mr. Poe will be Tuesday evening, January 31, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., February 1, 2012, at the funeral home chapel with Brother Wade Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
