Obituary of Lindin R. Townsend

Lindin R. Townsend, 84, of Grandin, MO, departed this life Friday, October 21, 2022. He was born August 3, 1938, in Hunter, MO to the late Lenard and Clara Jane (Boyer) Townsend.

Lindin was a mechanic. He had also worked as a night security guard. Lindin enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the many sights and sounds and watching the seasons change. He also liked to camp and playing cards.

On June 21, 1957, Lindin married Sylvia Parcus. She survives. Also surviving are his children, David Townsend and Debra Nickerson, both of Grandin and Carl Townsend, Michael David Townsend, and Kelsy Townsend, all of Granite City, IL, as well as 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Lindin was preceded in death by a son, Lindin Townsend; a grandson, Brandon Townsend; and all his siblings. His sisters were the late Maggie Townsend, Lucille Catlett, Ruthie Wilson, and his brothers were Lee Townsend, Louis Townsend, Raymond Townsend, Eugene Townsend, and Walter Hamrick.

Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel beginning at noon on Thursday, October 27, 2022, with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandin-Carter County Cemetery.
