Obituary of Pamela DeShay Shelton

On Monday, September 12, 2022, Pamela Scott Shelton (Pam) passed away at the age of 68. Pam was born to Leroy and Delia (Durbin) Scott on July 15, 1954. Pam valued family above all else and was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a devoted friend to many and had a passion for reading, literature, and learning. Pam was a Scrabble enthusiast, dubbed “Sista Scrabble Queen” by her family and friends, known for vexing her opponents with uncommon words and her skill for capitalizing on triple word scores.

 

Pam was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Beverly Scott Sanders. Her passing was followed shortly after by that of her sister, Sharyn Scott Pierce. She is survived by her children, Erica and her husband, James, Derek and his wife, Cecilia, and Justin Shelton; grandchildren, Isabelle, Gaven, Sayge, Xander, and Evelyn; sisters, Caryn and her husband, Arnold, Connie, Patricia and her husband, Richard, Dawn, and Donna; and a brother, Leroy and his wife, Lorie; as well as several nieces and nephews. May her memory be eternal!

 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, 606 Walnut Street, Doniphan, Missouri. It will be followed by a celebration of her life for family and friends at the Catholic Parish Hall at 703 Pine Street in Doniphan, Missouri.
