Obituary of Jimmy Hobbs

James “Jimmy” Calvin Hobbs, 66-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Tuesday, August 30, 2022. He was born October 3, 1955, in Atchison, KS, to the late James E. and Ruby Ellen (Jones) Hobbs.

 

Jimmy was a skilled mechanic. He could fix just about anything. He also applied those skills to his work in construction. Jimmy enjoyed being outdoors bushhogging, mowing, and fishing. His time outdoors also included working with horses.

 

On May 10, 2002, Jimmy married Londa “Lou” Brasser in Ash Flat, AR. She survives. Also surviving a son, Michael Hobbs of Olathe, KS; his sisters, Charlene Camargo, Virginia Worley, Opal Baker, Venita Butler, Tonia Hebrock, and Tonqua Lamb; and his brothers, Butch Hobbs, Harold Hobbs, Albert Hobbs, David Hobbs, Gary Hobbs, and John Hobbs.

 

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl Coe, Joe Coe, Bill Hobbs, and Jerome Hobbs.

 

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Brother Luther Abbott will be officiating.
