Jonathan Dee Haney, 82, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Monday, July 25, 2022, He was born May 6, 1940, in Handy, MO, to the late Marion Jonathan and Anna Irene (Sees) Haney.

 

John was a carpenter. He liked to garden and go hunting and fishing. John also liked to quilt. With all his interests and hobbies, John cherished the time spent with his family the most. He attended Handy Church. He had also served in the United States Army.

 

On December 12, 2020, John married Esther Marena Todd. She survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Kimberly (Darin) Stevens of Doniphan; stepchildren, Danny Richardson of Potosi, MO, Timothy Hendrix of Poplar Bluff, MO, Steven Richardson of Park Hills, MO, Kevin Hendrix of Doniphan, and Theresa Whaley of Poplar Bluff, MO; siblings, George Haney, Clara Belle Ray, and Anna Catherine Whaley, all of Doniphan, and Sarah Chaffin of Williamsville; grandchildren, Dallas and Caleb Haney of Ripley, TN, Samantha (Curt) Majors of Van Buren, MO, and Alexandra Stevens of Winterhaven, FL; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Mason Majors of Van Buren; as well as numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

John was preceded in death by a son, John Allen Haney, and his brothers, Lonnie Ray Haney, Joe Haney, Charles Franklin Haney, William T. Haney, Noah Haney, and Marion J. Haney.

 

Visitation will be at Handy Church on Friday, July 29, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow. Brother David Grubb will be officiating. Burial will be in Handy Cemetery.
