Obituary of Glenda Lee Joplin
Glenda Lee Joplin, 82, of Oxly, MO, departed this life Wednesday, July 20, 2022. She was born January 18, 1940, in Holdenville, OK, to the late Glenn and Esta Lee (Williams) Bailey.
On July 28, 1967, Glenda married Larry Joplin in Corning, AR. He survives along with two daughters, Christine Anthony of Fairdealing and Jennifer (Tim) Mandry of Doniphan. Also surviving is granddaughter, Alexis Mandry.
Glenda worked in the field of education for thirty-two years, as both an English teacher and a counselor. She taught in four states, Colorado, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Glenda continued her education while working and received her Specialist’s Degree.
Glenda loved to play the piano and organ and spent many years as a musician at the First Baptist Church of Doniphan. She also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes, traveling, and was an avid at home Jeopardy participant.
Strong-willed and independent, Glenda lived life her way and inspired those who knew her best to do the same. A loving wife, mother, and Mimi, she will be missed.
Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Brother Monty Flanigan will be officiating, and burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
