Obituary of Odis Abbott

Odis Abbott, 81, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, July 6, 2022. He was born March 17, 1941, in Hamilton, AL to the late Olen and Effie (Allen) Abbott.

 

Odis loved the outdoors and enjoyed any time spent outside, especially working on the farm, hunting, and fishing. His most special time was that spent with family, especially his grandchildren.

 

On May 16, 1965, Odis married Wanda VanVickle in Pascola, MO. She survives. Also surviving are his sons, David Abbott of Doniphan and Randy (Tammy) Abbott of Jackson, MO; daughter-in-law, Dana Abbott of Doniphan; a brother, Arthur Abbott of Campbell, MO; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

Odis was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Gayle Abbott; a son, Charles Keith Abbott; sisters, Ruth, Bobbie Sue, Jessie, and Betty; and brothers, Herman, Hollis, and Ottest.

 

Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 8, 2022, beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Brother Jared Baker will be officiating. Burial will be in Abbott Cemetery.
