Melba Sue Root, 83-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Tuesday, June 7, 2022. She was born July 8, 1938, in Ripley County to the late Paul Pippin and Pearl (Jones) Johnson.

 

Sue was a dear friend and dedicated mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sports and animals had a special place in her kind and generous heart.

 

In 1975, Sue married Merrill Root in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2008. She was also preceded by her daughter, Robin Renee Steele; and her granddaughter, Jayden Baugus.

 

Surviving is her sister, Sandy Pippin of Fairdealing, MO;, and her brothers, Kelly Pippin of Oxly, MO, James McGaughy of Doniphan, and David McGaughy of Oxly.

 

A graveside service will be Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Antioch Cemetery near Oxly.
