Obituary of Rick Blake

Richard “Rick” Dale Blake, 63-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born July 28, 1958, in East St. Louis, IL to Earmon M. and Opal Marie (Furlow) Blake.

 

Rick enjoyed fishing and trapping. He had served as a volunteer firefighter with the Cahokia, IL Volunteer Fire Department before moving to the Doniphan area. Rick was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed home improvement projects and helped others build and remodel their homes.

 

On August 13, 1982, Rick married Nancy Bledsoe in Cahokia, IL. She survives. Also surviving is his son, Cliff Blake of Doniphan, and a brother, Bobby (Dosha) Blake of Union, MO.

 

Rick was preceded in death by a sister, Leta Kay Lange.

 

A memorial service will be held at a later day.
