Linda had been a part of my life since 1975 and I was 13. She virtually raised my niece during her infant and toddler years. She and my mom Ruby had a deep bond since the early days. Linda was so special in so many ways. She was part of our family. She would do anything she could to help out someone in need. She would come to our house and help us with our garden each summer and she would come and cook the best liver and onions I have ever eaten! We all left Doniphan in the 80's and she and my mom and I all remained in touch. My mom passed in 2016 and Linda would still call and keep me up to date. Some time would pass where we wouldn't talk for months, but when we finally did it was like the old days again. We'd visit back and forth and my husband and I came to visit her last March 28th the day before her birthday. We went to Patsy's for lunch and went flea marketing (our fave past time). Little did I realize on that day we headed back to Arkansas that it would be our last visit. We talked right before she passed, but nothing was wrong with her at that time that I was aware of. Unfortunately, I got carried up with cancer treatment and didnt check in with her for so many months, until today. I called her phone. No answer. I had called before thinking she was busy caring for some neighbor or friend and never thought much about it. I checked the Doniphan obits today and found this. It was a real punch in the gut. How could this have happened and I didnt even know. Friends, family, non blood family... I beg you. Please dont take time with loved ones for granted or you will be sitting there hurting like I am today. And "Lindy Lou", I only hurt for my loss, but i can rest assured that you are with Jesus. You are one of his own and we all know that! I love you and will always hear your voice and feel you in my heart.

There are so many memories! Going to the creek, picking blackberries, laughing and joking around. Linda and I did an Indian rain dance in Grandma's front yard. We was whooping and hollering. Mom and dad was laughing at us until it rained. That is still remembered by my mom. You will be so missed but I celebrate the years and memories we had together.
