Obituary of Danelle Gettings
Danelle N. Gettings, 47, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Saturday, April 23, 2022. She was born January 28, 1975 in Fredericktown, MO to Thomas Reich of Poplar Bluff and Nancy Schimweg, also of Poplar Bluff.
Danelle filled many roles in life and did it with charm, elegance, and grace. She was a mother, wife, sister, daughter, registered nurse, mentor, teacher, a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, and best friend. Her positive outlook, nurturing and kindhearted spirit, giving and selfless nature helped her fill these roles with style. She was a beautiful person inside and out and fun to be around. Danelle was obsessed with Disney and Harry Potter. She was active in Doniphan for Football, which was successful in getting the Doniphan football program reinstated after a 40-year hiatus. She often worked the football concession stand. Danelle was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and had served as a Vacation Bible School teacher. She had a deep faith in the Lord and lived that faith outwardly. Danelle had worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
On August 12, 2000, Danelle married David Gettings in Butler County. He survives. Also surviving are their five sons, Jeffery Simpson of St. Louis, MO, Tristan Gettings, John Gettings, and Eric Gettings all of Doniphan, and Seth Gettings of Springfield, MO; two sisters, China Reich and Molly Krakowiak, both of Poplar Bluff, MO; grandchildren, Landen, Kaylee, Addison, Briar, Gage, and Dyani; and great-grandchild, Kesley.
Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 28, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Brother Riley March will be officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan Mausoleum.
