Obituary of Walter Williamson

Walter Harold Williamson, 92, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Mr. Williamson, son of Pete and Viola (Elliott) Williamson, was born June 6, 1919, at Imboden, Arkansas. He was retired from Vitronic Manufacturing. Mr. Williamson enjoyed baseball, wrestling and traveling the country and was a member of West Doniphan Missionary Baptist Church. He had been married to Lucille Thomas and Dean Hollomon and both preceded him in death. Surviving are one son, Harold Williamson, Jr. and his wife, Lorraine, of Fairdealing, Missouri, and one daughter, Brenda Dickson and her husband, Bill, of Doniphan, Missouri; three grandchildren, Raymond Dickson and his wife, Sarah, Pam Howard and her husband, Chad, and Angie Franke and her husband, Wally; seven great-grandchildren, Emily Hassig and her husband, Josh, Amber Leonard and her husband, Rodney, Ashley Knapp, Tiffany Knapp, Justin Howard, Noah Dickson and Jonah Dickson; three great-great-grandchildren, Makynlee Hassig, Brooklyn Leonard and Remington Leonard; and special friend, Opal Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kenneth Melton officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
