Robert “Bob” Boggs, 81-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was born November 30, 1939 in Plain City, OH to the late Russell and Gertrude (Weirs) Boggs. Robert was a hard worker, working in the timber, logging, and farming. He had a good sense of humor and was pleased to share a funny story and a laugh. He was a kind person and special friend to many. Robert enjoyed bowling and playing BINGO. He also liked to be outdoors fishing and hunting. He was known to many as “Bob the Watermelon Man”. On April 18, 1963, Robert married Margaret Johnson in Greenup County, KY. She survives. Also surviving are his children, William (Ellen) Boggs of Naylor, MO, Bonnie (Jerry) McDowell, Roger Lee (Benita) Boggs, and Anginita Smith, all of Doniphan; his sisters, Joyce (Darrell) Blevins and Terry Mount, both of OH; brothers, Ron (Jean) Boggs of OH, Kenneth (Debi) Boggs of KY, Carl (Patsy) Boggs, also of KY, and George McNeeley, Jr. of OH; grandchildren, Lacey, Derek, Daniel, Breann, Ashley, Courtney, and Brandon; and great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Alex, Bexley, and Charlee Ann. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Robert was preceded in death by his stepdad, George McNeely; one son, Kenneth Ray Boggs; and sisters, Judy Roberts and Karen McNeeley. Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Brother Curtis Crowley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
