Jackie D. Mills, 85, of Fairdealing, MO, departed this life Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was born November 24, 1935 in Hermondale, MO to James and Gladys (Kight) Mills.
Jackie was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jackie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming.
On October 13, 1956, Jackie married Shirley Lakey in Hernando, MS. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Gerald Wayne Mills of Ocala, Florida, Terry Gene Mills of Norfolk, Virginia, Edward Lee Mills of Hillsboro, IL, Beverly Ann Nolan of Bunker Hill, IL, and Sheila Lynn Beers of Brighton, Illinois; sisters, Janie Bratten of Fayetteville, AR and Mary Goshen of Sherwood, AR; as well as 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel beginning at noon on Thursday, October 21, 2021 with the funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO at 3:00 p.m. Serving as pall bearers are Jarred Mills, Josh Mills, Shannen Nolan, Chad Nolan, Brian Mills, Jackie Mills, Jerhmy Mills, and Chase Boman.
