George Edward Perkins, 80, of Fairdealing, Missouri, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mr. Perkins, son of Wenston and Lucy (Briggs) Perkins, was born October 30, 1931, in Brighton, Tennessee. He had been a machinist with Whirlpool. Mr. Perkins enjoyed traveling and was a member of the N.R.A. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he served during the Korean War. On December 18, 1959, he was married to Lucille Milliken in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She preceded him in death on May 14, 2010. Surviving are one daughter, Linda Roetzel, of Fairdealing, Missouri; one brother, Frank Perkins of Arkansas, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Cathy Perkins, and one sister, Alice. Visitation for Mr. Perkins will be Monday evening, December 19, 2011, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will start at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, December 20, 2011, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.
