Obituary of Loye Gene Carner

Loye Gene Carner, 83-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born March 24, 1938 in Ripley County to the late Clarence Richard Eulah (Creason) Carner.
Loye had been employed by and retired from Dial Soap Corporation where he was a member of Teamster Local 618. He enjoyed being outdoors with a variety of hobbies, ranging from hunting and fishing to mushroom hunting and harvesting. He also was a gardener who found pleasure in planting and working in his garden. Loye built birdhouses and liked to play his guitar.
On July 26, 1959, Loye married Linda Russell in Gatewood, MO. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Gary (Rae) Carner of Ellsinore, MO, Sherri (Donnie) Cooper of Poplar Bluff, MO, Lisa (Glen) Woodson of Gatewood, MO, Melinda (Scott) Joplin of Grandin, and James (Janie) Carner of Fairdealing, MO; his sister, Janice White of High Ridge, MO; one brother, David Carner of Doniphan; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Loye was preceded in death by one sister, Jerri Corlee and one brother, Dale Carner.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Hunt-White Memorial Gardens.
