Oneita Faye Lewis, former resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was born June 4, 1954 in Poplar Bluff, MO to the late Franklin and Mildred (Huntley) Tharp. She was 66. Oneita enjoyed reading, poetry, and cooking. She also spent time embroidering and sewing. She loved time spent with her family.
On August 14, 1971, Oneita married George Lewis in Ponder, MO. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Tharp and brother, Sidney Tharp.
Surviving are her children, George Raymond (Rachel) Lewis, II of Wappepello, MO, Oneita “Katie” Katherine (James) Buckhanan, of Doniphan, and Mary H. Lewis (Randy Ferrell), also of Doniphan, MO; bonus daughters, Brittany Martin, Amber Lane Gast, and Bridget Putman; and her grandchildren, Ray, Bruce, Lincoln, Inman, and Augusta.
Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David Grubb officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family.
