Mary Louise Switzer, 89-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, March 4, 2021. She was born September 3, 1931 in Alton, MO to the late William and Stella (Sisco) Bridges.
Louise had worked as a cook in several restaurants and at the nutrition center. She also had worked in home health care. Louise enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and quilting. She was of the Baptist faith.
On April 4, 1948, Louise married Emery Switzer in Hardy, AR. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2008. Also preceding Louise in death was a daughter, Mary Nelson; sisters, Eula May Gillespie and Esther Giddens; and her brothers, Ralph, Norman and Leaman Bridges.
Surviving are her children, Janet Purcell, Sheila Meadors, Gary Switzer, Rick Switzer, Terry Switzer, and Donald Switzer, all of Doniphan, and Lester Switzer of Paragould, AR; a sister, Maxine Harris of Doniphan; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday, March 8, 2021 beginning at noon with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Towles Cemetery.
