Robert “Jack” Hall, 81, of Doniphan, Missouri, died February 18, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Jack was born June 28, 1939 in Doniphan, Missouri to Ralph Dale Hall and Mary Frances (Hall) Hall. Jack was a Boy Scout reaching the rank of Life. Jack accepted Christ as his Savior March 1, 1949, as a young boy, while attending First Baptist Church at Doniphan, Missouri. He attended college at Southwest Baptist University at Bolivar, Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1961. He served in the US Army Reserves from 1961 to 1967. Jack left a good paying job at Granite City Steel in Illinois in 1964 to take an intern position in contracting, with less pay but a promising career, at the US Army Aviation Command in St. Louis, Missouri. He was Contracting Officer negotiating Research and Development contracts on the Apache Helicopter with Hughes Helicopters Co. He also worked on the Blackhawk Helicopter and other Army Aircraft contracts. His training resulted in promotions to negotiate contracts with several aircraft manufacturing companies until his retirement as a GS-15 in October, 1990, when he and his wife, Donna, returned to Doniphan, Missouri. Jack met Donna Gail Beasley in 1964 at the Mart Building at 12th and Spruce, St. Louis, Missouri, where they both worked as civilians for the US Army Aviation Command. They were married October 23, 1965 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Oxly, Missouri, and celebrated 55 years of marriage in 2020. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, baby sister, Linda Hall; brother, Jim Hall; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hall; his father and mother-in-law, Johnson and Alice Beasley; brother-in-law, Jimmie Beasley; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Beasley. Surviving is his wife, Donna Beasley Hall; sisters-in-law, Doris and Mary; brother-in-law, Jerry Beasley; favorite nieces and nephews, Diane Hall of Kansas City, Missouri, Brent, Randy, Vicki, Keith, Donna Gail, Bonnie, Karen, Paula, Gordon, Roger, and Joe; dear friends, Eddie and Judy; friend of 63 years, Bill Owens; cousin, Kali Dawes; Aunt Maxine Hall; cousins, Janet and Michael Hall of Kent, Washington, Bobby and Janet Hall of Iowa, Sam Hall of California, Norma Lou Gray of West Point, Mississippi, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home at noon Wednesday, February 24, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Oxly, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jack’s name to the Ripley County Health Center, 1003 East Locust, Doniphan, MO 63935. The family requests that anyone in attendance wear a mask.
