Iris Christine Dewitt, 76-year-old resident of Ripley County, MO departed this life Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born August 12, 1944 in Bedico, LA to the late Robert Erving and Mamie Inez Vining. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and raising pets, especially puppies, and watching her favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints. She was of the Church of God faith.
On April 28, 1962, in Covington, LA, she was married to Floyd Dewitt, Sr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Floyd Dewitt, Jr.; sister Vera Burroughs; brothers, Irvin, Robert, and Willis Vining.
Surviving are children, Tony Dewitt; Walter and Julie Dewitt; Kristal Kay Dewitt; Daughter-in-law Polly Dewitt; brother Melvin Vining; grandchildren, Stephanie and Bryce Cangiamilla; Todd Dewitt; Chasity and Ernie Smith, Ashley Bruce; Quinton Bruce; Brandon Bruce; Jimmy Smith; great-grandchildren, Laken Cangiamilla; Bryleigh Cangiamilla, Ryver Cangiamilla; Hunter Bruce; Leland Bruce; Tucker Bruce; Charla and Brayden; and Taylor and Tayton.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dewitt will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 9-11 AM on Tuesday, and burial will be in Stephens Cemetery.
