Don C. Menard, 86, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Menard, son of Sibley Lafayette and Josie (Satchfield) Menard, was born April 12, 1925, in Nady, Arkansas. He retired from Firestone Products after 30 years of service. Mr. Menard attended New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed cutting wood, working on old cars and music. He was a World War II veteran and had served with the U. S. Army in occupied Japan. On October 29, 1944, he was married to Francis Jeanette Tharp at Tichnor, Arkansas. She survives. Mr. and Mrs. Menard had just celebrated their 67th anniversary. Also surviving are two daughters; Melody Lynn (Robert) Andersen of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Eunice Paulette (Robert) Stubbs of Westfield, Indiana; three sons, Orville Rex (Marilyn) Menard of Harvard, Illinois, Lyle Allen Menard of Harrisonburg, Louisiana, and William Lafayette (Marcia) Menard of Dayton, Texas; and eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sibley and Josie Menard; four sisters, Mary Ives, Margaret Boehn, Abbie Lee Jones, and Agnes Elrod; and four brothers, Walter Morris Menard, David Menard, Wesley Menard, and Sibley Menard. All Mr. Menard's siblings had resided in Arkansas. Visitation for Mr. Menard will take place Friday evening, December 2, 2011, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Saturday morning, December 3, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Gary Jones officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
