Sylvia (Reed) Schlake, 93 year old resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life November 23, 2020 in Poplar Bluff, MO. Sylvia was born October 12, 1927 in Gatewood, MO to the late Elmer and Anna Reed. Sylvia graduated from Couch High School in 1947. Afterwards, she worked at a textile factory.
For over 60 years, Sylvia was a member at the West Doniphan Missionary Baptist Church. She absolutely loved to attend church, sing, and participate in fellowship.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Steve Blunk (with whom her only child was born), her son Larry Allen Blunk, her husband Gordon Gore, and her husband Robert Schlake.
Sylvia is survived by her grandson, Larry Blunk, II and wife (Lesley Blunk), two great grandchildren Annabelle and Nolan, her daughter-in-law Carolyn blunt, and three cousins: Carol Mathis, Faye Harris, and Delsie Crawford.
Graveside services for Mrs. Schlake will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 in the Doniphan Cemetery.
