Obituary of William Melvin Searcy

William Melvin Searcy, 69, of Rock Springs, WY, departed this life Monday, September 28, 2020. He was born March 31, 1951 in Pine, MO to the late Evert Melvine and Goldie Lee (Davis) Searcy.
William was a welder, fabricator, and fencer with Blount Fencing for 22 years. He had resided in Rock Springs for 25 years after moving there from California. William had many pastimes which included hunting, fishing, camping, music, and spending time with his family. He also would spend time rock hunting, reading, watching football, and playing pool. He especially liked to read and learn about history and astronomy. William served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War.
William is survived by his brothers, Billy Dean (Sherri) Blount of Reliance, WY and Donald Eugene (Bertie) Blount of Gun Barrel, TX; sisters, Grace Searcy of Reliance, WY and Shirley Shutte of DeSoto, MO; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Ethel Davis; sisters, Barbara Blount and Judy Blount; and his brothers, Donnie Blount, Thurman Blount, and Orville Blount.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Bardley Cemetery.
