Obituary of Lafe Anderson McGonigal

Lafe Anderson “Andy” McGonigal, 72-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, August 12, 2020. He was born March 17, 1948 in Ripley County to the late Chester and Ethel Jewell (Little) McGonigal. Andy was an over-the-road truck driver, and then later was employed by Missouri Forge, where he worked until his retirement. Mr. McGonigal served in the United States Marine Corp. Some of his favorite pastimes include hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed listening to music and had a large collection of equipment and music. Surviving are his sons, Lafeus McGonigal of Dover, AR and Johnny McGonigal of Montgomery, AL; his stepson, Travis Luye of Doniphan; his sisters, Karen Andrews of St. Charles, Hazel Whittom of New Richmond, IN, Betty Allen of Ferguson, MO, and Ethelee Lawson of West Plains; his brothers, Duane McGonigal of Doniphan and William Leroy Boyles of Vian, OK; as well as seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. He also leaves behind many dear friends and neighbors. Andy was preceded in death by two brothers, Lindel Boyles and Chester Wayne McGonigal.
