Obituary of Pauline Ruhl Bigler

Pauline Ruhl Bigler, 89, of Doniphan, MO departed this life on April 6, 2020 at the Colonial Home Retirement and Assisted Living Facility under the care of Tri-County/Elara Caring Hospice due to Alzheimer Disease. Pauline, daughter of James and Lena Rackley, was born August 20, 1930 at home in Oregon County near Bardley, MO. Mrs. Bigler enjoyed being outdoors and working in her flowers. She also enjoyed going to her family property, “The Rackley Roost”, on Eleven Point River. She always had a cookie jar filled with cookies, and especially delighted in seeing her grandchildren and great-granddaughters enjoying cookies and drinking sweet tea on her patio. Pauline was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church and the Parish Ladies Group/Altar Society. Pauline was married to Albert Ruhl on August 30, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1990. She later married Charles Bigler on December 11, 1996. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2009. Mrs. Bigler is survived by three children, Ann Cain of Bedford, IN, John Ruhl of Heath, TX, and Geneva Johnson of Doniphan, MO. Also surviving is a special granddaughter, Nicki Lepold of Doniphan, MO and stepsons, Bruce Bigler of Poplar Bluff, MO and David Bigler of Merritt Island, FL., 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Albert Jr., Dennis, and Kenneth Ruhl; and nine siblings, brothers, Oval, Carl, Norbin, James, and John Rackley; and sisters, Edna Johnson, Ethel Lewis, Geneva Lewis, and Mildred Carter. Due to the current global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there will be no visitation or funeral. She will be laid to rest with a private graveside service at the Doniphan Oak Ridge Cemetery under the entrustment of Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, MO.
