Pearl Farmer, 79, life-time resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, November 3, 2011, at her residence in Doniphan, Missouri. Mrs. Farmer, daughter of the late William A. and Willie Myrtle (Ponder) Tyson, was born June 8, 1932, in Hoxie, Arkansas. She was employed by Doniphan Schools as a secretary. Mrs. Farmer was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served as part-time secretary, Vacation Bible School and Hospitality Committee. She was a Red Hatter, avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, watching birds, enjoying her grandchildren and traveling. She was married to Gordon Farmer on April 24, 1970, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Doniphan. He survives. Also surviving are: three sons, Mike Murphy of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Perry Farmer of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Terry Farmer, Highlandville, Missouri; six daughters, Sherry Brockmeier of Festus, Missouri, Kathy Murphy of O'Fallon, Missouri, Diane Watkins of Greenville, South Carolina, Kathryn Murphy, Tina Moe and Stephanie Clark all of Doniphan; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; two brothers Freeman Tyson of Colorado and Donald Earl Tyson of St. Louis. Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters Peggy Murphy and Brenda Gettings, four brothers Thurman Tyson, Robbie Tyson, Pat Tyson and William Tyson and one grand-daughter, Ashley Noel Jolly. Visitation will begin Sunday November 6, 2011, from 5-8 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Monday November 7, 2011, at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 10:00 AM with Bro. Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be at Doniphan City Cemetery in Doniphan.
