Obituary of Ruth Evans

Ruth Rongey Harris Evans, 92, of Doniphan, Mo, died at home, surrounded by family, Friday, January 10, 2020. She was born August 15, 1927, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Elbert and Amelia (Grindstaff) Rongey.
Ruth married Zeldon Brown Harris on March 22, 1947. He preceded her in death. She later married Charles Albert Evans on October 3, 1996. He also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her children, Connie Behrick, Cathy (Howard) Burgard, Sharon Maness (Birk Heimann), Brenda Harris, Mike (Cheryl) Harris, and Mark (Dawn Scott) Harris; two sisters, Louise Grieger and Margaret Reeve; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are three siblings, Charles Rongey, Marylou Rongey Johnson, and Harold Rongey.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Doniphan, 308 Walnut Street, on January 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist FirstFuture Fund.
