James R. (J.R.) Neal, 90 year old resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life Saturday, December 28, 2019 in Doniphan, MO. Mr. Neal was born May 15, 1929 in Braggadocio, MO to the late Robert A. and Nancy Glidewell Neal. He was a cabinet maker and loved tractors, music, and spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of the Fairview General Baptist Church.
On October 11, 1947, in Piggott, AR he was married to Nevada Evelyn Neal who preceded him in death September 12, 2017.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Imogene Wheeler and Ruby Roy; and brothers Joe Edward and William Bud Neal.
Surviving are children, Linda Kay Smith and Stephanie (Dale) Epstein both of Doniphan, MO; James Elroyce (Debbie) Neal of Bloomfield, MO; and Lonnie Joe (Patty) Neal of Garwood, MO; his sisters, Mary (Paul) Starnes of Malden, MO and Sue Ross of Portageville, MO; grandchildren Amy Manning, Jamie Neal, Mandy Mooney, Jason Neal, Brandon Neal, Austin Neal, Cody Neal, Josh White, Hannah Epstein, Zack Epstein, Tyler Struyk, Larry Struyk, and Alleesha Gloyd; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Neal will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, with Bro. Donnie Sanford officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and burial will be in the Bernie Cemetery, Bernie, MO.
A Memorial Tree was planted for J.R.
